Amid the green high-altitude hills of Thika in Kiambu County, Kenya, lies the historic Chania Bridge Estate (also known as Chania Estate). Founded in 1926 by the Harries family, the farm has preserved its tradition, sustainability, and commitment to quality for generations. Today, it is managed by Boyce Harries, the great-grandson of the founder, who continues the family legacy.
The name Chania Bridge refers to the nearby Chania River, which flows into the Athi River – one of Kenya’s longest rivers, running all the way to the Indian Ocean. The farm is situated at 1,550 meters above sea level and spans 73 hectares of fertile red volcanic soil. These conditions create outstanding Arabica with a complex flavor profile.
