The farm has been operating since 1980 and is located at over 1600 meters above sea level, just a few kilometers from Santa Ana in Honduras. It is run by Alexander Portillo, a third-generation coffee grower. He focuses on growing coffee under shade: the cherries ripen more slowly, the sugars concentrate, and the flavor is clearer. Since 2021, together with his father, they have been systematically experimenting with different fermentation methods and processing techniques (washed, honey, natural, and controlled fermentations), while also focusing on certified quality control. The goal is simple: clean cup, higher sweetness, and more pronounced aroma.
In March 2024, Finca Corintio won first place in the Denominación de Origen Marcala competition for the "Best Coffee in the cup." Since then, their coffee has been available in Spain, the USA, Taiwan, and gradually in other locations. This award serves as both a confirmation and a driving force for their continued growth.
